Hi Friend,
One of the most common things I hear from adults over 50 is:
"I just don't have the energy I used to."
While many things influence energy, one of the biggest factors is something surprisingly simple:
Blood Sugar Stability
When meals are built mostly around refined carbohydrates or highly processed foods, blood sugar rises quickly… and then drops quickly too.
When that drop happens, people often feel:
😴 Mid-afternoon fatigue 🍪 Cravings for sugar or snacks 🧠 Brain fog 😣 Irritability
One of the easiest energy upgrades is to build meals around fiber-rich whole foods.
These include:
🥗 Beans and lentils 🌾 Whole grains 🥬 Vegetables 🍓 Fruits 🥜 Nuts and seeds
These foods digest slowly and provide steady, lasting energy.
A helpful guideline I often share is:
Fiber + Plant Protein + Healthy Fats
For example:
🍓 Oatmeal with berries and chia seeds 🥗 Grain bowls with beans and avocado 🍲 Vegetable soup with lentils
Sometimes improving energy isn't about doing more…
It's simply about fueling your body better.
Warmly,
Sonia 🌿
