Hi Friend,
After working with adults over 50 on their nutrition, there is one mistake I see more than any other.
It's not eating too much. It's not making bad food choices. It's not even a lack of effort.
It's this: trying to do too much at once.
Someone decides they're ready to make a change — and overnight they overhaul everything. New meal plan, new shopping list, new rules, new everything. For a few days it goes well. Then life happens, and the whole thing falls apart. And they're left feeling like they failed — when really, the plan was always the problem.
Here's what I know to be true: lasting change doesn't come from dramatic overhauls. It comes from small, sustainable shifts done consistently over time.
One better breakfast. One more glass of water. One extra serving of vegetables at dinner. One short walk after a meal.
These things sound almost too small to matter. But stack them together over weeks and months and the cumulative effect is genuinely transformative. Energy improves. Digestion settles. The fog lifts. You start to feel like yourself again.
This is the approach I take with every person I work with — and it works because it's built around real life, not a perfect version of it.
So if you've been putting off making changes because you don't know where to start — or because every time you try, it feels overwhelming — I want you to try something different this week.
Pick just one thing. One small, nourishing habit you can do every single day this week.
Just one.
And then notice how it feels to actually follow through. Because that feeling — that quiet sense of I did it — is what builds the momentum for everything that comes next.
You don't have to change everything at once. You just have to start.
Warmly,
Sonia
